feel, tone, versatility, and durability
This pick provides a clean, clear tone. It is expressive and responsive, one of the most balanced and harmonically rich picks I've come across.Held parallel to the strings, it provides a smooth release with a full, rounded tone that will smooth out even more as you move your pick hand closer to the neck. Holding the pick at a slight angle to the string provides a punchier, more percussive sound that will brighten as you get closer to the bridge.
The ultex material seems to hold up well, with no breakage, cracking or chipping. I'm confident that this pick will hold up under normal conditions, and even withstand some occasional pick-tapping and pick-scraping.I would trust it over celluloid, nylon, lexan, tortex, or delrin without hesitation.
This pick delivers on four fronts: feel, tone, versatility, and durability. It is easy to hold without being over-textured, it drives through the string consistently on both up and down strokes, and provides a rich, well defined and balanced tone. Slight variations in technique allow for a wide range of tonal variation and the ultex material will easily outlast celluloid or vinyl.Especially in the heavier guages, this is an excellent pick for playing Blues, Classic Rock, Hard Bop, Fusion, Prog Rock, UK Rock, Rhythm & Blues, Slack Key, Garage, Afropop, Nashville, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Mariachi, Hair Metal, Surf, Juju, British Blues, Calypso, Deathcore, Motown, Psychedelic, Celtic, Soul, Glam, Indie, Grunge, Cubano, Southern Rock, Space Cowboy, Pop, Bossa Nova, Soukos, Zydeco, Country, or Bluegrass. It's not the best choice for funk, reggae, or strummed cowboy chords.
